I don't speak hair dresser

I don't speak hairdresser

In my 57 years of life I have had to get my hair cut or styled many times.

I talk to the stylist.  I explain try to explain what I want. He or she asks questions and seems to understand.  I relax into the procedure.

I once had a perm that I thought didn’t take.  When I went back the stylist informed me that the tiny bit of curl I had was what that color of rollers would make.  I then asked why he thought I wanted the exact same amount of curl as I had before the perm.  Did the perm not take or did he not understand the amount of curl I wanted?

I took my 4 year old son in for a haircut.  (He hated haircuts.)  I said to the stylish not too short please.  When she was done the only way his hair could have been shorter was if he was shaved bald.  How did I mess this one up?

Just recently I went to have steaks put in my hair.  I thought I was beginning to speak hairdresser because I asked for highlights and lowlights, not 2 colors of streaks.  She had not put in my previous streaks that I had liked but she found my record and said she would do the same thing.  Would I like any changes?  I said I thought a bit more of the burgundy color would be good.  2 hours later I left the shop as a red head.  My real color is a dark blond to brownish.  I did not have streaks I was a red head.  How did that happen?  Why did she bother with foils?  It would have been fast just to dye it.  (It has since washed out to mostly red with blond steaks that I can live with)

I just don’t seem to be able to speak hair dresser.

    Hey Karen,
Is this an old speech I don't know about? Because if it hasn't been a speech yet, it should be ,
because the stories in this post were pretty funny :)

Crazy, the weird things that can happen during a trip to the hairdresser's...
