It is very difficult to keep up with standards imposed by others, and impossible to keep up with standards imposed by ourselves. I was reading about the sermon on the mount, and the author said that while we are to strive for these ideals, part of the point is that we can’t live up to them, and we are supposed to realize that we need forgiveness and grace!
